Gingivitis can cause gum redness, swelling, and bleeding. More often than not, it occurs due to poor oral hygiene. Periodontitis on the other hand is a severe form of gum disease which leads to an inflammatory response that destroys bone and tissues.
Before surgery, our dentists use deep scaling to remove bacteria from teeth and gums. Simultaneously, we perform root planing where we smooth out the surfaces of the roots of the teeth.
