Due to the new lockdown imposed on us tonight by the prime minister, we wanted to give you a quick update on what it means regarding dentistry in general.

We have confirmation from Mrs Sara Hurley,  The Chief Dental Officer England, that dental services are to remain open and see patients as during the last period of national restrictions. The government guidance on the national lockdown says, “The majority of public services will continue and you will be able to leave home to visit them. These include the NHS and medical services like GPs and dentists”. Dentistry is an essential medical service. It is a priority for the NHS. Patients are entitled to travel for medical appointments, including dental visits.

In short: we’re still open and if you’ve visited us in the past few months, you’ll find the experience to be pretty much the same as with the other Tier restrictions in place.

We are still running with a decreased capacity as we must allow additional time for cleaning and preparation. We recommend booking an appointment within good time to ensure availability. You can book an appointment with us by phone or email.

Rest assured that we have all the necessary PPE and routines to keep you safe and to be able to deliver a safe treatment to you during your visit.

We look forward to seeing you.

Dental Arts Studio Remains Open- National Lockdown Announcement 31st October 2020

Over the weekend Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a second national lockdown due to the rising number of cases of Covid-19.

Dental Arts Studio will still be open. There are no restrictions with regards to medical treatment and you are actively encouraged to keep your appointments. At Dental Arts Studio we have all the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and will continue to follow our high standards in cross infection control.

What next?

Please continue to attend your appointments. We have excellent infection control procedures along with a robust triaging policy to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

If you are worried about your attendance please contact us to discuss your concerns and we can always postpone your treatment till a later date.

We continue to recommend that patients in the high-risk category delay non-essential treatment until further guidance has been given by the relevant authorities.

When you arrive:

We advise that you wear a mask at all times while inside the dental practice and only remove your mask at the request of the dental professional. We will continue to check your temperature and if this is above 37.8C, you will be advised to rebook your treatment and to follow government guidelines. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for an appointment due to social distancing guidelines.

As you enter the building you will need to use the alcohol disinfectant rub to disinfectant your hands.

The treatment rooms will be prepared prior to your appointment with all surfaces disinfected after each patient. The air purification/exchange units will continue to be used throughout the day in each surgery. We have sourced PPE and unlike the start of the Pandemic (March 2020 in the UK), there is no shortage.

Please do not be concerned as we continue to maintain high standards of cross infection control.

Stay safe and please contact us if you have any questions.

Kind regards

Dental Arts Studio Team

Due to Covid-19, online booking has been suspended until further notice. Please call reception to book an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you.

We hope you and your family are in good health.

You may have heard that dental practices can open to routine care from Monday 8 June.

Our practice will be opening on that day but we just wanted to be clear that this will not be business as usual. The treatments you are offered may be different to those you received before, depending on staff and equipment available. It will take some time before services return to what you previously experienced as normal.
Our practice follows infection control guidelines made by the governing bodies. We are up-to-date on new guidance that has been issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

For example:

  • Our practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask some
screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again at
    your appointment.
  • We have hand sanitiser that we will ask you to use when you enter
    the practice.
  • We no longer offer magazines or pamphlets since those items are difficult to clean
    and disinfect.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between
patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for
    scheduling your appointment.
  • We will have screens up in reception and reduced seating in our
waiting areas to comply with social distancing.

We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

How you can help:

  • Apart from children and patients with carers, patients should come alone
  • A distance of at least 2 metres must be observed if another patient is present in the dental practice
  • Payment should be made by card
  • Staff will not shake your hand
  • If you show symptoms following appointment booking, you should contact the practice by phone
  • Please do not arrive early to the practice, but rather arrive at the time of your appointment
  • Please do not arrive without an appointment
  • Patients should come wearing a mask if possible or be prepared to wear one.

Please be reassured if you have any further questions, concerns or dental emergencies to call the practice or contact us via email:

We understand that this is inconvenient and it may mean the treatment timelines are extended We will be able to reconvene normal service once it is safe to do so. If your appointment needs to be postponed, one of our team will be in touch with you once we are open.
Thank you all for your support during these uncertain times. We appreciate your patience as we work towards a full resumption of our normal services.
