Dr Shekha Bhuva

Since Shekha qualified from Guy’s Kings and St Thomas’ Dental Hospital, she has gained a broad base of dental experience. This includes a year of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training at the Royal Surrey, Guildford, training in Restorative Dentistry at Birmingham Dental Hospital, as well as time in general practice. She embarked on her Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) at Guy’s Hospital in 2008 and her practicing career is now limited to the diagnosis and management of a full range of periodontal conditions.

She is a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is a tutor on postgraduate revision courses. She is also an active member of the British Society of Periodontology.

In her spare time Shekha enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle. Recent adventures include the Inca Trail in Peru, the UK Three Peaks Challenge, a London to Paris cycle challenge and a 400km cycling tour around Sardinia. Shekha is passionate about promoting oral health and has spent time providing dental care in orphanages and villages in Vietnam and Nepal. To date, she is actively involved in ‘SmileHigh’, a dental charity set up to provide vital dental care to the most remote Himalayan villages.
