Sharon Holmes – Operations Director

Sharon is the Operations Director of Dental Arts Studio and is an integral part of Dental Arts Studio, overseeing all the day to day issues and concerns that arise.

She has been with Dental Arts Studio from the beginning of its journey nearly eight years ago; she has been key to growing the company from two practices to an expanding company which now has six branches throughout London and employs close to one hundred employees.

Sharon is an inspiration to the entire team, her vibrancy and openness generates team spirit and loyalty throughout the group as a whole. Even though extremely busy she always has time for every single member of staff and it is not unusual that employees turn to her in times of crisis both professionally and personally. She is more than a boss, she is a friend.

This year Dental Arts Studio has merged to become a limited company which has meant upheaval for some of the branches with a new management and administrative system being put in place. Sharon has worked tirelessly to make the change as seamless and painless as possible, every week she makes it a point to visit every single branch and address any issues or problems that have arisen.

Dental Arts Studio has also recently made their city road branch the head office and as such the entire building went through a period of refurbishment while still open for business. Sharon’s planning and help meant the work was completed with the minimum amount of disruption. The practice is now one of the most attractive in the company; something which is largely owing to Sharon’s input.

When Sharon first took on the role of Operations Director there was no administrative system in place which was fine with two practices but as the company has grown she has created and implemented a system which makes auditing Dental Arts Studio as simple and efficient as possible. In fact her system has been so successful that she was invited to speak about it at the Dentistry Show in Birmingham earlier this year.

In addition to public speaking engagements that Sharon undertakes to promote dentistry and Dental Arts Studio she also writes regularly for the Dental Tribune.

Sharon is a perfectionist who lives and breathes Dental Arts Studio, you can be sure if there is a problem and someone is stuck Sharon will have the answer. Sharon goes above and beyond the call of duty and Dental Arts Studio is lucky to have her.

Sharon won Practice Manager of the year in 2007. She was met by a judging panel and selected by the British Dental Practice Managers Associate. It is a prestigious award, which has a rigorous system in place to select their winners. In 2008 she was nominated and then shortlisted for the Private Dentistry Awards. In 2010 Sharon was once again nominated and shortlisted for the Dentistry Awards.
